According to the Guinness Book of World Records this accomplishment has never been equaled. Presuming that you are not Ralf Laue, it seems safe to say that you are not the best domino stacker. Concerts in Art Galleries

ADORNO continues its Gallery Sessions radio series in various art galleries in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here in Pith Music, we’ll feature articles on galleries that ADORNO is performing in and their artists. Mason Bates

Described by Kyle Gann in Symphony Magazine as “The Bilingualist”, DJ electronica performer and composer Mason Bates is fluent in both the classical/contemporary genre as well as the popular styles of electronica. Bates will be joining ADORNO Ensemble and Mark Applebaum in “Elektro/Acoustik” October 23rd. Read more

Mark Applebaum

ADORNO is delighted to be working with composer Mark Applebaum, professor at Stanford University. A truly unique birth-child of jazz and Brian Ferneyhough, of the “New Complexity” movement, Applebaum is widely-known for his homemade sound sculpture the “Mouseketier”. On ADORNO’s performance at SFSU, the group will perform some chamber works by Applebaum including two works that were commissioned by the Logos Foundation “Accretion/Deletion” and “Identity Destruction Sport”. The composer will also join in on the concert with his Mouseketier. You can view Mark performing the mouseketier on Pith Music’s featured video. Welcome to Pith Music, ADORNO Ensemble’s online magazine.
Our second issue focuses on our upcoming concert, “Elastic Band” on January 16th at Cain Schulte Gallery in San Francisco. Join us for a fun and exciting event that will feature music inspired by the early psychedelic rock of the Beatles and contemporary art-music. Also, we introduce the beginnings of Pith Radio, our new home for ADORNO’s podcast series.
